STX Norway Offshore, through its subsidiary STX Brazil Offshore, has entered into two new contracts with DOF ASA subsidiary Norskan Offshore for the construction of two AH 11 design AHTS.
These vessels will be the first of the new AH 11 design from STX Norway Offshore
Design in Alesund, Norway and are designed with special focus on deep water operations.
The vessels will have an LOA of approximately 93m with a breadth of approx 22m and will be built by STX Brazil in Niteroi, Brazil with delivery scheduled for 2012 and
Norskan has been awarded four eight year contracts by Petrobras for large AHTS vessels. Two of the contracts have been awarded to Skandi Amazonas and the
Skandi Iguacu, AH 12 design vessels currently under construction at STX Promar in Brazil while the other two contracts are based on the new AH 11 design.
The four contracts are due to commence between 2011 and 2013 and with a value of approximately NKr 5.2 billion represent the highest contract value ever awarded to the
DOF group by one client.
