Houlder in the Uk says it engineers recently supervised certification and commissioning of new equipment during the conversion of Technipís Apache II pipelay vessel.
The first Apache, which was built in 1979, completed over 400 pipelay projects, for the most part involving rigid steel pipe. The vesselís high-performance pipelay equipment was transferred onto a new ship at Technipís construction yard in Pori, Finland creating an up-to-date version of a proven and well utilised original.
Houlder supplied an onsite Commissioning Engineer who ensured all works and equipment complied with regulatory and class requirements.
