Meling Supply orders VS 485 PSV from Kleven MaritimeYard News // July 7, 2010
Meling Supply's VS 485 is due to be delivered in February 2011.
Kleven Maritime has entered into contract with Meling Supply AS for construction of a VS 485 MPSV designed by Wärtsilä Ship Design Norway.
The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the shipowner OH Meling & Co AS in Stavanger, Norway.
The vessel will be outfitted at Myklebust Verft in Gursken, Norway, and is due to be delivered in February 2011.
The yard described the new vessel as a new generation of environmentally friendly and robust PSV with a focus on reduced emissions, fuel economy and optimised cargo capacity, both above and below deck.
Ice class ICE C makes the vessel suitable for operations in the north, and oil recovery equipment (OIL REC) adds further value to the vessel in the market.
The vessel's deadweight is around 4,500 tonnes, with a length overall of 88m, beam of 20m, and deck space about 1,000m2.
The vessel has accommodation for 64 persons, and the hull is prepared for installation of crane and helicopter deck.
