Red7Marine acquires Damen Stan Tug 1205

    Vessel & ROV News // July 6, 2010

Red7Marine will use its new Stan Tug to support its fleet of jack-up barges.

British company Red7Marine has acquired a Damen Stan Tug 1205 which was exhibited at the Seawork 2010 exhibition in the UK in June.

“It is rare to sell a vessel directly at a show so we are delighted, especially because she had just come out of the yard,” says Casper Vermeulen, Damen Sales Manager Europe.

At the time, three of the new Stan Tugs had just been completed in Vietnam and arrived in Europe. Four more of the series are under construction at Damen Shipyards Changde in China.

Red7Marine was created two years ago when diving company Anglian Marine and Haven Ports, a civil construction company, decided to join forces.

The new, 9 tonne Bollard Pull Stan Tug will have its home port in Harwich and is expected to support the company’s jack-up barges around the UK.

Red7Marine owns a number of barges and jack-ups that are increasingly being used in support of the offshore windfarm sector, and the new vessel is expected to be used to move barges carrying equipment out to windfarms.
