PSV Bumble Bee enters service in Gulf of MexicoVessel & ROV News // May 14, 2010
Bee Mar LLC in the US announced recently that its latest DP2 US Flag PSV Bumble Bee, completed sea trials and entered service in the US Gulf of Mexico in early April.
The announcement was made by Bee Mar president and chief executive officer Van C DeWitt, who said: "Bumble Bee is a welcome addition to our busy fleet. Our domestic and international customers are very pleased with the technical design, station-keeping and cargo capacities of our new DP2 PSV fleet in service globally.”
Mr DeWitt also said: "Bee Mar’s clients recognise the tremendous value and versatility of our DP2 PSV fleet. These vessels, which were all built at Bollinger Shipyard, provide our customers with unbeatable value.”
Bumble Bee is the first in a new sister-ship series of 4,000 bhp, DP2 PSVs with a clear deck area of 8,225ft2 (175ft x 47ft), liquid mud capacity of 9,000 barrels and a cargo carrying capability of 3,000 long tons.
