    Fassmer delivers new survey vessel to Fugro

    Fugro Searcher will service the offshore oil and gas and renewables markets.

    Fassmer has delivered its latest newbuilding, the first of two 65m survey vessels for Fugro Group. 

    The vessel is designed for worldwide operation in the offshore oil and gas industry and in the offshore renewable energy sector, and will carry out a full range of site and route survey tasks to obtain the high resolution data necessary for safe, efficient and cost-effective planning, design and engineering activities involving the seabed and the installation of pipelines, platforms, wind turbines, subsea structures.

    Fugro Searcher has a crew of 42 and can operate continuously for 35 days. The range of the vessel is 6,000nm at 10 knots cruising speed. A maximum speed of 13.4 knots was achieved during sea trials. The propulsion system is diesel-electric with ducted Z-drive propellers and a bow thruster.
