    Troms Vision delivered

    Vessel & ROV News // March 3, 2010

Norwegian owner Troms Offshore took delivery of the VS 495 DEM MkII design PSV Troms Vision from builders Kleven Yard at Ulsteinvik, Norway on 26 February.

Billed as a multi-purpose PSV the vessel is equipped with a 150t @ 10m Hydramarine offshore crane so owners will be hoping to secure more lucrative employment than that on offer for straight supply duties.

As Offshore Shipbrokers Ltd reported recently, the Norwegian flagged DP2 vessel has a LOA of 95.30m, deadweight of approximately 4,200 tonnes, clear deck of 1,100m2, large under deck cargo capacities and accommodation for 68.

An interesting feature of the vessel is the so called DEM concept. DEM stands for diesel electric and diesel mechanical and is a form of hybrid propulsion which has recently started to appear in offshore support vessels.
