First GustoMSC NG-9000C wind turbine installation vessel to be built

    Vessel & ROV News // January 28, 2010

GustoMSC has confirmed that Drydocks World Southeast Asia Pte Limited (DDW-SEA) is to build a GustoMSC NG-9000C-HPE wind turbine installation vessel at Drydocks World - Graha yard (DDW-G) for an undisclosed client.

The vessel will be the largest of its kind serving the wind turbine installation market, claimed GustoMSC.

The vessel features a 6,500 tonne variable load capacity, a fully redundant DP2 system, a continuous hydraulic jacking system and an 800 tonne GustoMSC crane, which, uniquely, will be fitted on top of a jack-house around the jack-up leg.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for the first quarter of 2012.

GustoMSC is providing basic design and turnkey supply of the jacking system and main crane.

"This project is a continuation of co-operation between DDW-SEA and GustoMSC since 2005 in designing and building four SEA-2000 construction jack-ups, four CJ46-X100D drilling jack-ups, two Service Jack construction/decommissioning jack-ups and one SEA-2750 multi-purpose jack-up," said GustoMSC.
