STX Canada Marine has been awarded a contract byEastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) for the design of a modified version of the diesel-electric PSV 23DE design. Six vessels of this design are to be built at the ESG facilities in Panama City, Florida for Harvey Gulf International Marine.
The vessels are 89.0m LOA x 19.5m x 7.5m with approximately 5,650 dwt and are well suited for worldwide operations, meeting all of the latest Marpol and IMO regulations.
Delivery of the first vessel is scheduled for August 2011 with the follow-on vessel delivered at five month intervals thereafter.
The project will result in a four month design effort at STXM to prepare the detail design package for the modified vessel.
