Bergen Group divests Swedish yard
Yard News - November 24, 2009
Bergen Group in Norway has signed a Letter of Intent with Øresundvarvet AB regarding divestment of Landskronavarvet AB shipyard, which is located north of Malmö in Sweden.
The divestment will give Bergen Group a limited accounting profit. A deal is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2010.
Landskronavarvet AB became a part of Bergen Group ASA when the company acquired Fosen Yard in the fall of 2008.
Hull construction in Sweden is not parrt of Bergen Group's strategy, and the activity at the Swedish hull shipyard has been phased out since the last hull delivery in August 2009.
