Second Falklands drilling campaign set to get under way

The second ever drilling campaign in the Falkland Islands is set to kick off with the confirmation that Desire Petroleum has concluded a contract worth US$19.6 million with Diamond Offshore for a four well charter with six well options for the semi Ocean Guardian.
Seabrokers said the rig will mobilise from Invergordon, Scotland at the end of November with planned spud date in the North Falkland basin early February.
In view of the distances involved there is a hefty mob/demob fee of some US$16 million.
