Noordhoek Pathfinder launchedVessel & ROV News // November 9, 2009
The lastet newbuild at the De Hoop shipyard in The Netherlands, the 62m ROV/survey Noordhoek Pathfinder, which is being built for Noordhoek Offshore in The Netherlands, was launched on 7 November 2009 at Dep Hoop's yard in Foxhol.
Due to enter service early in 2010, Noordhoek Pathfinder is a DP 2, diesel-electric vessel witn a moonpool, a 25 tonne offshore crane, work and inspection class ROVs, tow-fish, ROTV systems and a survey suite.
With accommodation for 40 she will meet the latest environmental criteria while ensuring acoustically quiet operations at survey speeds. The vessel's main functions will be inspection, maintenance & repair (IMR), hydrography, geotechnical investigation, and analogue/digital geophysical survey.
Noordhoek also has a newbuild DP2 SAT DSV under construction for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2009.
