Seismic vessels scrapped
Vessel & ROV News - November 5, 2009
Seabrokers reports that CGGVeritas has sold three of its vessels for demolition this year. Due to decreased demand it has disposed of the 3D vessels Harmattan, Fohn and Orion.
Said Seabrokers: "Other seismic companies have stacked vessels pending an upturn in the market which in common with other sectors of the offshore market is expected to
recover next year on the back of rising oil prices."
However, as Seabrokers also noted, the arrival of new, ultra modern tonnage will no doubt make life difficult for older seismic vessels.
