Spot market failed to improve, says Stewart Group

Contracts, Tenders and Rates // March 19, 2004
The Stewart Group reports that, as predicted February was a similar month to January in the North Sea.

"Rates for AHTS dropped below 3,000 and reached a high of 6,750. At one stage 18 fixtures were recorded in a day, however this failed to have an impact on the market and the monthly average was around the 3,500 level. Rate levels for PSVs peaked at 5,500 and averaged around 3,750. Activity levels for next month are expected to be similar to those witnessed in February. The occasional increase in rates can be expected if rig moves come to the market simultaneously," said the company in its latest monthly report.
