Broker Seabrokers has confirmed that the new Lauritzen Offshore Services 256 PAX
accommodation and support vessel Dan Swift will assist StatoilHydro with development of the Peregrino field offhsore Brazil.
Work at Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg Germany is nearing completion on the conversion of Dan Swift, formerly the cable ship Kraka, to serve as a DP 2 Accommodation and Support vessel for the workers and equipment needed to work on fixed or floating offshore structures.
In December 2009 the vessel is scheduled to begin a seven month firm + 4 x 1 month contract to assist StatoilHydro in the Peregrino field which is located in the Campos basin 85 km offshore Brazil.
Dan Swift will provide accommodation and service facilities for hook-up and commissioning of two wellhead platforms (WHPs). Maersk is to provide the project's FPSO. Dan Swift is a high-end DP 2 accommodation vessel equipped with two telescopic gangways of 38.5metres in length, open work deck and workshop facilities to support the hook-up activities.
