MacDonald: DP Centres are recognised globally.
C-MAR Group has launched its DP training centre in the heart of India’s business community, Mumbai.
Reflecting a total investment of INR 10 million, The DP Centre Mumbai is the latest facility to be opened by the C-MAR owned DP Centre within 18 months.
The opening of the facility in Mumbai is part of an ongoing strategy by the C-MAR Group’s DP Centre to consolidate its position as a leading DP training provider and give complete global coverage in the provision of DP training services.
Currently the DP Centre has world class facilities in London, Brazil, Singapore, Croatia and Philippines.
The Group’s Dynamic Positioning Centre trains more people to Nautical Institute (NI) standards than any other organisation in the world. All centres are accredited by the NI and provide training and courses well in excess of the accepted minimum training requirements.
The Mumbai DP Centre, based in the recognised commercial hub of India, has been opened in response to the rapidly emerging oil and gas markets in the region.
The new facility will offer a range of DP training including the NI accredited Basic and Advanced DP courses which cover a wide range of DP subjects such as practical manoeuvring of DP ships and simulated DP operations.
The Advanced courses will also include training in identifying errors, faults, and failures, as well as DP alarms, warnings and emergency procedures. Other courses offered include Appreciation courses tailored specifically to clients needs aimed at managers or surveyors who need an appreciation of DP operations, Maintenance courses for engineers, Dive & Construction Vessel Management course and DP Refresher course.
Part of global marine and energy services firm – C-MAR Group, The Dynamic Positioning Centre’s Mumbai base follows the opening of its Croatia centre. The Croatia, aimed at covering the Eastern European and expansive Caspian energy markets, has been offering Basic and Advanced DP courses as well as other courses on offer by The DP Centre.
Offered for the training of key DP personnel, all courses across the centres teach to a standard well above industry wide requirements whilst providing the industry with a desperately needed supply of skilled and certified operators.
Andrew Macdonald, C-MAR Group’s director of operations, said: “Our Dynamic Positioning Centres are now globally recognised as the first port of call for DP training and skills. We have created centres of excellence around the globe to provide the energy and maritime industries with a service that is critical to the marine and oil & gas sectors."
"We have raised the bar in recent years by offering tailored DP courses that address specific needs within the industry. Operating at a level well above international standards means that we are committed to providing excellence in DP instruction from contemporary facilities around the globe."
"C-MAR has developed all of our courses in line with the Nautical Institute’s guidelines and continues to enhance and re-evaluate training through continual review with industry professionals. This ensures that we are providing the best and most relevant training possible, in the areas where the industry needs it and in accessible and relevant regions around the world.”
