IMCA publishes new guidance on offshore divingPublications // April 29, 2009
Easy access to key documentation is vital for safety and efficiency, which is why the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has produced the fifth edition of the ‘IMCA Guidance on Offshore Diving CD’.
The CD brings together guidance and information notes published by the IMCA Diving Division since 1995 (and previously AODC) together with the association’s core activity material (Competence & Training; and Safety, Environment and Legislation) relevant to all IMCA members. It also includes the publications of the independent Diving Medical Advisory Committee (DMAC).
“The CD is effectively a snapshot of parts of the members-only website at one moment in time,” explained IMCA’s Technical Director, Jane Bugler.
“We ask members to continue to check the website for the latest version of any document, but the CD is an invaluable back up, as it can be used where internet access can be intermittent – if available at all, so is particularly useful in some offshore situations and/or for those undertaking third party audits.”
The CD is available solely to members who have funded its development through their subscriptions.
They can order additional copies at £20 each or £75 for a set of five (plus VAT where applicable or plus 20% for delivery outside Europe) from www.imca-int.com; email@example.com and from IMCA at 5 Lower Belgrave Street, London SW1W 0NR, UK. Tel: +44 (0)20 7824 5520; Fax: +44 (0)20 7824 5521.
