SeeTrack Offshore V2.2: beyond ROV DP
Equipment & Technology - April 9, 2009
SeeByte, a UK-based software solutions company specialising in visualisation and control systems for automated assets, has announced the release of SeeTrack Offshore V.2.2 for Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Dynamic Positioning (DP).
SeeTrack Offshore is compatible with all standard ROV systems and can be easily retro-fitted to operational units that are fitted with a Doppler and a Heading Reference system.
Pilots using ROVS equipped with SeeTrack Offshore will be able to hold position and heading at the touch of a button, change the position and heading accurately using a simple point-and-click mouse interface, use the ROV joystick intuitively without having to consider currents and tether effects and cruise at constant speed and heading.
Said Seebyte's Offshore Solutions Manager Daniel Serano: "SeeTrack Offshore V2.2 provides the latest generation of SMART software tools in a simple to use, pilot friendly form factor that has been shown to improve operational performance. Training using SeeTrack Offshore is painless and the intuitive tools guarantee excellent productivity within a very short period of time”.
SeeTrack Offshore V2.2 is compatible with the new Tracking Module. The Tracking Module transforms SeeTrack Offshore by extending the systems capabilities. With the Tracking Module on board the ROV can also be made to hold station relative to vertical structures, like risers and anchor chains, making vertical inspections easy. The Tracking Module is the tool of choice for Touch-Down monitoring, Drill Support and Inspection, Repair and Maintenance operations.
Every unit of SeeTrack Offshore V2.2 comes with the Survey Module as standard. The Survey Module allows the user to pre-plan a mission with waypoint and holding patterns using a simple and intuitive user interface. The ROV is then transformed into a stable, automatic vehicle capable of gathering excellent data. The Survey Module is ideal for all subsea surveys.
