    Far Samson delivered

    Farstad Shipping reports that Far Samson, a UT761 CD construction support vessel (CSV) was delivered on March 24th by STX Norway's Langsten shipyard, to Farstad Construction, a wholly owned subsidiary of Farstad Shipping.

    The vessel will commence a five-year contract for Saipem UK Limited after the final offshore testing.

    Far Samson has a length of 121.5m and a beam of 26m. With a bollard pull of 423 tonnes the vessel is the most capable construction vessel in the world, and is designed and built according to DNV's highest environmental standards and classifications. Far Samson is tailor-made for trenching pipelines offshore.
    A long-term facility of NKr 680 million has been drawn with Eksportfinans in order to facilitate the financing of the vessel. The loan is guaranteed by DnB NOR Bank ASA, GIEK and Handelsbanken.
