Noordhoek expands ROV fleetVessel & ROV News // March 25, 2009
Noordhoek Offshore has announced that it has ordered two new Sub-Atlantic Mohican ROVs and three Seaeye Falcon ROVs.
The company said the decision to order new ROVs "is another step within the growth strategy of Noordhoek," which already has two new vessels under construction.
These are a DP 2 Saturation Diving Support Vessel for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2009 and a dedicated DP 2 ROV/survey vessel for delivery in the first quarter of 2010.
The order continues Noordhoek´s fleet rejuvenation programme and adds five units to Noordhoek’s ROV fleet, which operates mainly in the IRM market. T
Delivery of the new ROVs is scheduled for the second quarter of 2009.
"The addition of these five ROVs will not only provide considerable operational flexibility but also allows us to respond to the increasing demand from the market," said the company.
“Noordhoek is known for its strong, innovative and successful position as an offshore subsea contractor in the North Sea area. Market developments and customer requirements, as well as our current market position are strong drivers behind the decision to invest in the expansion of our ROV fleet with five new units and it will greatly enhance Noordhoek’s operational flexibility."
"These new ROVs are complementary to the existing fleet and will provide Noordhoek with market-leading assets to further develop our presence in our market and offer more possibilities to our customers,” said Leen Noordhoek, the company's managing director.
