Siem Offshore in Norway has announced that the company has entered into a long-term collaboration with the Offshore Simulator Centre in Ålesund and the Ålesund University College, to train and develop the anchor handling expertise of its crew.
Siem Offshore is to become a significant owner and operator of anchor handling tug supply vessels, with the first of a number of new AHTS it has on order due to be delivered this summer.
“Our primary goal is to pursue an increasingly higher standard of what is considered good expertise within our field,” said Operations Director Svein Erik Mykland.
“We want to contribute to the reinforcement of good training in the industry and support the development of suitable training concepts. Collaboration with Offshore Simulator Centre and
Ålesund University College is an initiative to safeguard both.”
