Aker Yards to build new AHTS design for Island Offshore

Aker Yards has been awarded a contract by Island Offshore to build two Rolls-Royce UT787 design anchor handlers. The contract on the second vessel includes a cancellation clause.The contracts are the 14th and 15th between Island Offshore and Aker Yards.
The new designs will be delivered in December 2006 and May 2007 and will be 85m in length with a beam of 22m and accommodation for 50. They will have a continuous bollard pull of approximately 235 tonnes.
