Bergen Oilfield Services has acquired and installed three IBM High Performance Computing cluster solutions, including two to be used on board their vessels BOS Arctic and BOS Angler, for rapid processing of seismic data. The third is used by a major land-processing centre.
The advanced systems include three Intel-cluster solutions consisting of a total of 24 nodes with 192 cores and 160 terabytes of storage.
In addition, the company recently purchased an IBM bladeserver HC10 with a CP20-converter, which will run office applications at sea.
