    Naming ceremony for Viking Poseidon held

    The naming of Viking Poseidon took place in Ulsteinvik on November 14th. The vessel is an ULSTEIN SX121, a large subsea construction vessel with ULSTEIN X-BOW.

    Viking Poseidon is 130m long with a beam of 25m, and a deck area of approximately 1,500m2.

    She will be fitted out for 106 persons and will amongst other things be equipped with a ROV garage, helideck and a diesel electric propulsion system.

    Nathalie Pinon from the company Veolia Environnement (US) was the sponsor of the vesssel.

    Eidesvik signed a long-term contract with Veolia for Viking Poseidon.

    The ship will operate ROVs that will inspect and repair offshore installations in the Gulf of Mexico.
