Subsea 7 wins EPIC work from Petrobras

Subsea 7 has been awarded an EPIC contract by Petrobras valued in excess of US $70 million for the installation of the gas export pipeline in the Golfinho field in the Espírito Santo Basin.The work scope includes engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of a 12in pipeline totaling 68km in length.The installation scope includes pre-lay survey along the proposed route, pipeline installation and full-time ROV monitoring of the touchdown point and a full as-built survey once the pipe has been tested and stabilized.The pre-commission scope consists of flooding, pressure testing, gauging, drying and filling with nitrogen.The Golfinho field is located offshore the state of Espírito Santo and operations on this project will take place in water depths up to 1,200m. The project will be executed, engineered and supported from the Subsea 7 base in Niterói in the state of Rio de Janeiro.The pipeline spools will be welded and prepared at the Subsea 7 Ubu base in the state of Espírito Santo close to Vitoria, Brazil. Offshore work is due for completion during the first quarter of 2006 utilising the Subsea 7 pipelay vessel Skandi Navica.More articles from this category
