Sartor Shipping orders anchor handlersVessel & ROV News // October 21, 2008
LR-Fairplay reports that Sartor Shipping has ordered two VS465 anchor handlers at Wison HI’s shipyard in Nantong, China for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2010 and second quarter of 2011.
LR-Fairplay said Sartor has emphasised low fuel consumption and low emissions by adopting a hybrid propulsion system. The vessels will be built according to Clean Ship Super class regulations, and in accordance with Comfort class in order to achieve the best possible working environment for the crews.
The first newbuild has been awarded a long term contract with Gaz de France, Norway in support of the Gjøa field, when Gaz de France takes over operations on that field from Statoil in 2010.
Sartor Shipping reportedly also has options for further newbuilds at the Chinese yard.
