    Vessel & ROV News // September 17, 2008

On September 14th, senior management of seismic survey company Polarcus attended the official keel laying ceremony for Polarcus vessel NB66 at Drydocks World - Dubai shipyard in the United Arab Emirates.

Commenting on the event, Rolf Ronningen, CEO Polarcus, said: "It is just 20 weeks since we signed the shipbuilding contract for the first of Polarcus' 12-streamer 3-D seismic vessels. It is gratifying to see the excellent progress that has been made over the intervening period."

"I believe this is a clear reflection of the excellent teamwork and cooperation of all parties involved."

The 89m long vessel will be the first of four 12-streamer 3-D vessels being built by Polarcus at Drydocks World - Dubai over the next two years.

The vessel will be delivered in the third quarter of 2009 and is expected to be operational shortly thereafter.

The company is also building in the same period two multi-purpose 3-D/2-D/source vessels capable of towing up to six streamers.
