DOF acquires Kongsberg multibeam sonar

Skandi Bergen is being fitted with an EM 170 multibeam sonar.
DOF Subsea Norway has acquired a third 0.5° x 1° high resolution EM 710 multibeam echo sounder for use in the North Sea.
The Kongsberg Maritime EM 710 will be fitted on board the DP 2 multipurpose support vessel Skandi Bergen.
The system was due to be delivered during May 2008 and the transducers fitted in the hull during the summer.
EM 710 systems are also installed on the vessels Geosund and Geograf.
