    ST Engineering to upgrade derrick pipelay vessel for Clough

    Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd has announced that its marine arm, Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine), has secured a S$29.16 million contract to lengthen and upgrade the crane capacity of a derrick pipelay barge for Clough Java Offshore Pte Ltd (Clough Java), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clough Limited (Clough).

    Preparatory work has commenced with redelivery of the vessel, Java Constructor, expected in first half of 2009.

    The major works involve construction and pre-outfitting of a 15m mid-section module which incorporates a new engine room and the power management system, vessel lengthening and upgrading of the heavy lift crane. 

    Other major works involve upgrading the pipelay system, the mooring system and hull strengthening works.
