Fugro Saltire named in NorwayVessel & ROV News // May 12, 2008
Fugro has announced that the naming ceremony for its latest newbuild, Fugro Saltire, took place on April 26th.
Fugro Survey Ltd in Aberdeen has a long-term charter agreement with E Forland Shipowners for the newbuild ROV, survey and construction support vessel, which is designed to operate worldwide form Arctic to tropical conditions, and will meet the highest safety and environmental standards.
Operated by Fugro Survey Limited from its Aberdeen base, the Fugro Saltire will be offered globally through Fugro’s worldwide network of operating companies.
The vessel has an overall length of 111m and a beam of 24m and will be equipped with a 150 tonne heave compensated crane for operations in water depths down to 3,000m, and a moonpool for module handling. Deck space will measure over 1,100m2 with 10t/m˛ loading in all areas.
Fugro Saltire will be equipped with a minimum of two of Fugro’s next generation FCV3000 ROVs, launched via two over-side LARS from the central vessel hanger area.
