DMT Emerald contracted to Aker Marine ContractorsVessel & ROV News // April 17, 2008
Deep Marine Technology in the US has announced that DMT Emerald is to work for Aker Marine Contractors on the Blind Faith project in Mississippi Canyon 650.
Working in water depths of from 100ft to 6,500ft, DMT Emerald will be working on the tie-in riser spool piece installation. This portion of the project will consist of tying in two 14in risers, one 6in riser, and one 8in riser.
The project started in late March and is scheduled to last approximately six weeks. Aker Marine Contractors will be utilizing the 150Hp Triton XLS ROV onboard the vessel, as well as surface divers.
DMT Emerald is equipped with a 100 tonne heave compensated, multi-purpose lifting tower, a 100 tonne knuckleboom crane, a 23ft x 27ft moonpool, and accommodations for 73.
DMT Emerald will be working in conjunction with Aker Marine Contractor's deepwater construction vessel, Boa Sub C.
