StatoilHydro confirm a batch of newbuildings long termNews // April 11, 2008
Broker Braemar Seascope Offshore reports that a handful of newbuildings have been chartered by StatoilHydro with a contract value of circa NKr 3 billion including options with delivery between 2008 and 2011.
Remoy Shipping will build two X-Bow PSVs against 8-12 year charters and Volstad Princess (ST216 L CD), which is due for delivery from the Brattvaag shipyard in July, has been chartered for 3-5 years.
Farstadís newbuilding UT751CD that is due for delivery in March 2009 from the Brevik shipyard has been chartered for 5-9 years, and District Offshore (DOF) have ordered an Aker PSV 06 LNG in Norway against a contract of the same duration.
This vessel is scheduled to deliver at the end of 2010, but Skandi Sotra (MT6000), which has been on charter to StatoilHydro since 2002, will effectively act as a frontrunner until the newbuild arrives.
