ESVAGT will upgrade Dorada to work as a crew change vessel.
ESVAGT has purchased the vessel Dorada to act a crew change vessel along with ESVAGT Alpha.
Dorada will be renamed and the new name will be revealed at a later date.
The vessel was originally built at Stocznia Gdynia, Poland in 1991 as a deep-sea freezer factory/stern trawler.
In 1997 she was purchased by her previous owners, Dorada Marine Ltd, and converted into a fishery patrol and research vessel.
The vessel has been on a long term charter to the Falkland Islands Government operating continuously in the South Atlantic Ocean from January 1998 to the present day.
Dorada has been very well maintained over the past nine years and operated to a high standard, with very good reliability.
She was due to depart the Falkland Islands in mid-February and is expected to arrive in Esbjerg, Denmark, in mid-March.
In Esbjerg the vessel will be re-built to fit the purpose of a crew change vessel.
