Kystdesign in Norway has announced that it has signed a contract with DeepOcean for the delivery of two SUPPORTER Work Class ROVs.
Both of the SUPPORTERS will be installed on Edda Flora, an IMR vessel, and will perform subsea inspection, ROV operations and light subsea construction work.
By 2008, 10 SUPPORTER vehicles, and four of the larger INSTALLER vehicles will have been delivered.
"The SUPPORTER ROV can accommodate up to 24 additional tooling hydraulic functions, of which four are high flow (75l/min), and up to 20 additional survey sensors and eight cameras. All hydraulic functions are proportionally controlled, and there is ground fault monitoring on all channels in the electronics system," said the company in a statement.
The ROV's control system offers a variety of automatic functions and station-keeping capabilities.
