Broker reports excellent rates for anchor handlers in South East Asia News
// April 1, 2005
Broker Fearnleys Offshore Supply says activity in South East Asia has continued where it left off last year.
"Medium to large anchor handlers are still the most sought after vessel type with rates for this segment reaching all time highs," said Fearnleys recently. "Many owners have to turn down work on a weekly basis, as they can simply not deliver enough boats."
"A number of boats came off the Bayou Undan project in late January, but most of these were immediately snatched to support other projects. The only exception was the larger straight supply vessels, which did not find a sustainable market and therefore quickly set sail for the North Sea and West Africa," noted Fearnleys.
