Billy Guice, Vice President –Marketing, Rigdon Marine Corporation, has announced that the company has successfully taken delivery of First and Ten, the company’s first of 10 diesel electric Rigdon 4000 class PSVs.
First and Ten immediately assumed a term contract with a major international oil company operating in the Gulf of Mexico.
First and Ten is classed by ABS, and has DP 2, with a diesel-electric propulsion system that provides excellent fuel efficiency and performance redundancy.
Rigdon 4000 PSVs can transport up to 4,000 barrels of liquid mud in an independent and fully segregated, self cleaning oval tank system and have the ability to deliver 100 per cent of their mud cargo to an offshore rig while greatly reducing the client’s expense of tank cleaning.
First and Ten is 190ft x 46ft x 18ft PSV featuring two azimuthing Z-Drives and a fixed L-Drive aft and two large tunnel thrusters forward.
