TGS-NOPEC initiates Russian 2-D surveyProjects and Operations // August 9, 2007
TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company (TGS) has initiated acquisition of a new multi-client 2-D seismic programme in the Sea of Okhotsk in partnership with Dalmorneftegeofizika (DMNG).
The 5,500 kilometer SA-07 survey is located near Sakhalin Island and is supported by industry pre-funding.
The data will be processed by DMNG at its Yutzhno Sakhalinsk processing center and is expected to be available to clients by December.
The 2007 programme is the fourth year in a row that TGS and DMNG have jointly acquired seismic data in the Sakhalin region. Including the new programme, the companies will together have over 35,000kms of modern seismic in the area.
TGS and its partners have an extensive geophysical and geological database to aid in future exploration in Russia.
Over 40,000km of modern seismic, 100,000km of legacy seismic, and numerous geologic studies, well logs, and well reports are available from a variety of offshore and onshore basins in Russia.
