Scomi Marine buys two accommodation vessels

    Vessel & ROV News // August 6, 2007

Scomi Marine Bhd in Malaysia has ordered two new accommodation vessels for RM126 million.

The order is part of the groupís strategy to tap the potential in the increased oil and gas exploration and production activities, and expand its current fleet of more than 140 vessels.

The purchase is part of Scomi Marineís RM200 million budget for capital expenditure this year.

The vessels will be purchased by its subsidiary PT Rig Tenders Indonesia Tbk (PTRT), doubling PTRTís current capacity of accommodation barges which operate under a time charter arrangement.
