Skipsteknisk to design new DSVs for GDV Subsea

The ST-256 L CD is the larger of the two designs for GDV Subsea.
Skipsteknisk has confirmed that it has been awarded a design contract for two combined diving support and constructions ships for GDV Subsea in Arendal, Norway.
Both ships to be built at Bergen Yards for delivery in 2009.
The first is a ST-256 L CD design with a length of 120m and a beam of 23m.
The second is of ST-254 CD design with a length of 95m and a beam of 20m.
In a statement Skipsteknisk said: "The two designs will represent the latest development within design of offshore support vessels and great effort has been put into the achievement of optimal performance in terms of seakeeping, fuel economy, comfort and safety for the crew, and environmental friendliness."
Design work will start soon and commence through 2007 and 2008.
