Rolls-Royce has won contracts to deliver designs and equipment systems for six new offshore service vessels, plus options for another six.
The total value for Rolls-Royce of these contracts, excluding options, is close to £83 million. The vessels will be built by Korean and Norwegian yards for the Nordcapital Group.
Four of the vessels are of the UT 786 CD design. These vessels are powerful deep water anchorhandlers, with full supply capability and standby/rescue capacity.
They will be built in Korea at the Sekwang shipyard, former INP, for delivery in the second half of 2009. The yard has earlier delivered nine offshore vessels of Rolls-Royce design.
The other two are platform supply vessels to the new generation UT 776 CD design, and the building contract has been placed with Aker Yards Brevik in Norway, the first is to be delivered in third quarter 2009 and the second vessel in the first quarter of 2010.
This contract brings to 44 the number of Rolls-Royce designed vessels built or under construction at Aker Yards Brevik.
