    SBX charters vessel

    Vessel & ROV News // January 30, 2007

SeaBird Exploration Limited and Økland Fiskebåtrederi AS in Norway have entered into a five-year firm bareboat charter with three one year options for the vessel Newfoundland Otter, which will be re-named Munin Explorer.

The vessel is a 1990-built Norwegian trawler which will be converted into a seismic vesel.

Økland will carry out the conversion to a source/2-D vessel at its cost with the exception of the cost of the air guns and the streamer.

The contract value for the firm period is approximately US$33 million and is due to become effective in June 2007.

SeaBird has an option to purchase the vessel during the firm five year period.
