Three more PSVs ordered with Voith VSPsVessel & ROV News // January 24, 2007
Voith has confirmed that there are now three offshore vessels on order fitted with its innovative Voith Schneider Propellers (VSP) propulsors.
Ordered by Norwegian shipowner Østensjø AS they are two PSVs and a ROV/survey vessel.
The two 85.2m PSVs are being built at the Spanish shipyard Astilleros Gondan. Each will have two type 32R5 EC/300-2 VSPs in a diesel electric arrangement, each being designed for an output of 2,500 kW.
With an overall length of 93.4m the ROV/survey vessel will have two tpe 36R6 EC/300-2 VSPs with a total output of 7,600kW.
The vessel is being built at Karmsund Maritime Service in Norway.
