    Vessel & ROV News // December 8, 2006

The VS 495 DEM CD Mk II is Troms Offshore's first at Kleven.

Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway has signed a contract with Troms Offshore in Tromsø, Norway for construction of a sophisticated offshore vessel.

The vessel is a Multifunctional Platform Supply Vessel (MPSV) of VS 495 DEM CD Mk II design, and is the first vessel for Troms Offshore at Kleven Verft.

The vessel was designed by the Norwegian design company Vik Sandvik.

The contract value is NKr 355 million and the vessel is 95.3m long, with a beam of 21.0m, large cargo capacity below deck, a working deck of 1,030m2 and accommodation for 60 persons.

The vessel is to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2009 as yard newbuilding number 339.

”The VS 495 DEM CD Mk II is characterised by a unique and environmental friendly propulsion system, and features Clean Design class notation. This was decisive in our choice of vessel”, said Vice President Østen Mortvedt  on the new addition to the company’s fleet.

”At Kleven we are very grateful for this contract, our first with Troms Offshore. We look forward to a long and fruitful co-operation”, said Kleven's Managing Director Ståle Rasmussen.
