CH Offshore secures charter for newbuild AHTSVessel & ROV News // November 16, 2006
The Board of Directors of CH Offshore Ltd have announced that the company has entered into a bareboat charter for the AHTS Tourmaline with Offshore Marine Services of Western Australia.
Tourmaline is a new 12,240bhp, 150 ton bollard-pull anchor-handling tug/supply vessel that the company will take delivery of from the a yard in Japan at the end of December.
Under the deal, the company will charter Tourmaline to OMS for a
primary period of 13 months for approximately US$7.5 million.
OMS has an option to extend the charter period for another 11 months for approximately US$6.35 million.
The charter is expected to commence around end January 2007 or early February 2007.
Tourmaline will provide support services to the drilling jack-up drill Wilcraft on the Australian Continental Shelf.
