CH Offshore orders two more anchor handlers

    Vessel & ROV News // November 9, 2006

CH Offshore Ltd in Singapore has announced that the company has awarded contracts to Universal Shipbuilding Corporation in Japan for construction of two 68m, 12,240bhp/150 tonne bollard pull DP2 anchor handling tug/supply vessels at a combined contractual value of US$51.2 million.

The company said the vessels will be capable of operating in deep water. One vessel is to be delivered in November 2009 while the other vessel is to be delivered in February 2010.

The company said the order reflects CH Offshore Ltdís commitment to its fleet renewal programme and anticipation of deepwater requirements of oil and gas producers worldwide.

Together with five vessels currently under construction in Japan, the addition of the latest two vessels will bring the total of the Groupís fleet of vessels to 29 (including two vessels which are operated through joint ventures in which the Group has a 49 per cent shareholding).
