Hostages Freed in NigeriaNews // November 8, 2006
Seismic survey firm PGS has confirmed that its workers who were taken hostage in Nigeria last week have been released.
PGS said UK citizen Martin Maddieson and US citizen Jim Brazel were released by their captors to representatives of the Bayelsa State Government.
PGS has been in contact with them and understand that both men are in good health and unharmed.
Arrangements have been made for them to travel home as soon as possible to be reunited with their families in the US and UK.
Before departure home they will undergo a routine medical check-up in Nigeria.
"PGS wishes to thank all those who contributed their efforts for the well being and safe release of our two employees. Martin Maddieson and Jim Brazel are both looking forward to getting home and we would request that the media respect the privacy of both them and their families," said PGS.
