Hallin orders further two SMD Hydrovision Work Class ROVs

    Vessel & ROV News // October 30, 2006

Offshore contractor Hallin Marine has exercised an option with SMD Hydrovision (SMDH) for a further two 100hp, 2,000m Quasar Compact ROV systems. The new systems are scheduled for delivery the second quarter of 2007.

Quasar Compact 003 & 004 will be accompanied by SMDH 8Te launch systems, SMDH deepwater winch systems and SMDH compact tether management systems.

Hallin’s steadily growing fleet will now total six SMDH Q-Series ROV systems including two Quantum construction class systems.

The Quasar Compact is a member of the SMDH’s Q-Series range of work class ROVs which include the Quark, Quasar and Quantum vehicles.

Each system is different in size offering varying levels of capability while still sharing many component parts easing spare part holding for fleet customers.
