Solstad orders two AHTS from KarmsundVessel & ROV News // September 29, 2006
Solstad Offshore in Norway has entered into a contract with Karmsund Maritime Service for the construction of two large anchor handlers.
The design for the new ships was developed in close cooperation between Solstad Offhsore and Vik-Sandvik.
The vessels will have 28,000bhp, a bollard pull of 300 tons, accommodation for 60 people, and are designed with particular emphasis on safe anchor handling.
They will be equipped to also operate as construction service vessels (CSV) and will be prepared for installation of A frames and a large offshore crane.
The vessels will be delivered in December 2008 and May 2009, and has a cost price of around NKr 500 million.
