Pan United wins contracts from leading Malaysian operator

    Yard News // August 29, 2006

Pan-United Marine Limited has won two shipbuilding contracts worth S$39 million from Malaysia’s leading offshore fleet operator and repeat customer, Bumi Armada Navigation Sdn Bhd, which currently manages more than 40 vessels of various categories in Malaysia and Brunei.

Bumi Armada is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bumi Armada Berhad, whose principal activities are in marine transportation, engineering, and provision of support services to the offshore oil and gas companies.

The contracts involve the construction of two 75m, 6,000bhp DP2 maintenance/work vessels.

Buoyed by rising energy prices, these are the third and fourth vessels for Bumi Armada. They will be built in Pan United's Singapore yard and delivered around May and October 2008 respectively.
