    Solstrand to build MT 6009 Mk II for Havila

    Norwegian naval architects Marin Teknikk have secured a new contract with Solstrand AS for delivery of design and engineering package for a MT 6009 Mk II for Havila AS, in Fosnavaag.
    The multipurpose field supply vessel design is a further development of the MT 6009 with an extra deck in the superstructure and covered forecastle deck.

    The ship will have a length of 74.9m and beam of 16.4m and will supplement the medium-size PSVs in the Havila fleet.
    The new ship will have a deck area of 684m2 and deadweight of approximately 3,250 tonnes, accommodation for 31 and good areas for mess and day rooms, offices and conference rooms.

    The MT 6009 Mk II design has a fully integrated diesel-electric propulsion system and a Kongsberg Maritime dynamic positioning system.

    The ship will bear the class notation: DNV +1A1 - E0 - SF, dk(+), hl(2,5), AUTR, LFL*, CLEAN and COMF-V(III), and will comply with Naut OSV.

    Delivery of the vessel is set foe the end of April 2008 and is a sister ship to the MT 6009 Mk II that Solstrand is building for Trico Supply AS.
